Youth and Family Programs

Our Cathedral Parish offers several programs for children and families of our parish.

Youth Ministry and Activities
Youth Ministry is the Christian community's response to the needs of youth, and the sharing of gifts and talents of youth with the larger community.

There are three goals of Youth Ministry.

  • To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus in our world today.
  • To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community.
  • To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

During the summer, the Cathedral parish hosts a Vacation Bible School, please visit our Youth Ministry page for more details on this event.

Liturgy of the Word
Each Sunday at the 10:00 Mass children ages 4-12 are invited to leave the assembly to participate in their own celebration of the Liturgy of the Word.

An adult prayer leader leads the children to the Raphael Rooms until after the homily when they return to the assembly. Children participate in songs, conversation and listening to the Sunday readings in an environment conducive to their age level.

We encourage children who are visiting the Cathedral to join us when the children are invited to participate in Liturgy of the Word each Sunday.

Families With Young Children
Several times a year, families with young children are invited to participate in activities organized especially for them. Activities include an annual Epiphany party and hayride in the fall. These family activities strengthen relationships between families in our parish. Family activities are announced in the parish bulletin. If you would like to be on the mailing list for our activities, please call the rectory.
